2017-2018

Watoto Business Partner Lunch - 17 November 2017

Angela Wong and Ida Yau attended Watoto Business Partner Lunch and meet with the Founder of Watoto (Gary and Marilyn Skinner) and various partners sharing on how we can collaborate with Watoto to help with their work in Uganda. We were amazed that how different professionals can contribute to the society of Uganda.

Watoto Concert - 13 December 2017

FIDA choir and kids together with Watoto Children’s Choir held a concert in December 2017. Through the concerts, not only we have chance to know more about Watoto ministry, we can also help telling the public what FIDA and Watoto has done for the people in Uganda.  We are also happy to have taken pictures with the celebrities that attended the concert!

Watoto BBQ - 19 December 2017

FIDA council members and those performed in the Watoto concert had great fun with the Watoto choir members at a BBQ organized in our President (Ms Benita Yu) apartment’s club house. We danced, sang and share! It was fantastic!

Lunch with Head Child Care Leaders - 12 May 2018

A few of our FIDA council members met with Mrs Jacqueline Opondo (Team Leader, Watoto Community Care) and Mrs Martha Mwesigye (Team Leader, Watoto Child Care) from Uganda together with Pastor Sunny, Director Wallace and Victoria (a HK resident now living in Uganda serving the community!). In addition to fund raising and sponsorship to Watoto, we discussed what further collaboration can FIDA and Watoto have to help with the economic growth and increasing job opportunities for women in Uganda. It was indeed a meaningful lunch sharing!

Sponsorship to the Watoto Sports Program Leadership Training Camp

FIDA donated HKD5,460 to female basketball players for sending them to a training camp organized by Score Beyond under Watoto Sports Ministry.

Watoto started launching some Sports Program to their youth. Through the Program, the participants had improved significantly in their focus and performance in study, social life, discipline and athletic performance. Many of them are now selected by national teams and guess what, many became Captains of teams because of their outstanding character, attitude and testimonies.

Score Beyond is a group of people with a sincere dream to make pioneers out of girl-athletes in Uganda.  It emerged out of a need to identify talented and distinguished athletes and to utilize them as champions of progress and change in their social orders. A unique thought is given to underprivileged girls who are physically gifted however battling with resources.
