As a celebration of International Women’s Day – to remember those who helped us to where we are today and to help those in need – we held a screening of a human trafficking documentary “The Pink Room” on 6 March 2016 at the City University of Hong Kong.
The Pink Room follows the journey of Mien and other young girls in the turbulent world of sex slavery. In addition to the screening, we also had a panel sharing by Mr Matt Friedman (CEO of Mekong Club), Mr Don and Mrs Bridget Brewster (Founders of AIM) and Ms Lisa Samuelson (Founder/ CEO of Eden Ministry). We also had lovely performances by Groundworks and FIDA as well as a sale of accessories and sweaters handmade by the girls.
This event was supported by many and had over 130 attendees, including Hong Kong immigration officers in charge of human trafficking work and the EU Office to Hong Kong and Macao.
