Over the past year, the Music Committee has continued its endeavor to share music with FIDA's members and friends, and has been actively involved in showing support to events and functions for a good cause.

As a highlight of the year, FIDA was invited to perform on the Open Day of the Hong Kong International Music Academy to perform the Sound of Music Medley together with the Hong Kong International Music Academy Choir alongside their Junior Symphony Orchestra on 7th July 2018. It was a very successful event and the Music Committee will keep on with its effort to promote music among FIDA's members in the days to come.
 

          

Following the continuous success of our past fundraising concerts, the Music Committee together with the Choir Committee have co-operated with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) in the Fundraising Concert held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 30 March 2019 (Saturday). The concert raised over HK$2,000,000 to support the HK Phil’s extensive education and outreach programmes, nurturing the young generation with world class orchestral music. This year, the theme of the Fundraising Concert was “A Musical Encounter with the HK Phil”. Under the leadership of renowned conductor Gerard Salonga, music lovers from FIDA, together with Friends In Memory of Florence Hui and other women's organizations, performed the song 祝福 alongside the HK Phil and showcased their passion towards music.

          

We joined Watoto in concert together with our children on 13 December 2017 with a number of practices prior to that.

Singing practices take place at Past President and current Council Member, Sylvia Siu’s home.  We were so pampered by Sylvia with sumptuous lunches and tea, warmth and love and open heart.  We are pleased to have launched our first ever FIDA song, music composed by Sylvia Siu and lyrics by Julianne Doe and Winnie Tam. A recording of this was made in preparation for our 40th Anniversary Cocktail Reception in November last year.
