Fireside Chat with Current and Former Primary School Principals on 30 August 2019

In collaboration with ilearningkids Limited, we have invited three current and former primary school principals to share their experiences and insights on education and primary school selection for children. The panel will be moderated by Joyce Cheng. Speakers included Ms Ada Cheung, current principal of St. Bonaventure Catholic Primary School; Mrs. Julie Ma, former principal of Marymount Primary School; and Mrs. Alice Wong, former principal of St. Clare’s Primary School. 

Carol Yu’s Steinway Piano Recital on 23 September 2018

This was a joint event organized by Music Committee and Parenting Committee and we were very honored to have Ms. Carol Yu, a Steinway Artist and renowned concert pianist to perform her upcoming series of Steinway Piano Recitals to our members and friends exclusively. A lot of members and friends and their families attended the event and it was very well received. 

Education Talk on “How to Prepare for Ivy League/Oxbridge" on 27 August 2018

Ms. Li Li, founder of BSF Education Centre gave us an education talk on Ivy League or Oxbridge and shared with us her experience and case studies from her students admitted by Ivy League/Oxbridge and what types of preparation would be necessary for students aged 12 years or above.

Guided Visit to Fire Station on 5 August 2018

We’ve organized a guided visit to the Tsim Sha Tsui Fire Station and Ambulance Depot. Both adults and children had great time learning the different tools and equipment firemen used for their work and got the opportunity to see the various kinds of fire engines.

DIY Bath Bomb & Lip Balm in June 2018
This was a workshop for making DIY bath bombs and lip balm with essential oils. The event was fun-filled as members and friends could make their own bath bombs and lip balm. Eleven members and some of their kids participated in the event. 

Parenting lunch talk in July 2016
A positive parenting lunch talk was organised for FIDA members and friends in July 2016 with Mrs Josephine Ling as our speaker. It was a very inspiring and interactive session during which Mrs Ling shared with us positive parenting values and her personal experience.

Flower jamming event in August 2015
In August 2015, Parenting Committee organized a flower jamming event for parents and kids at TST Lane Crawford Platinum Suite sponsored by DBS.  The 8 pairs of participants attended the event and followed the staff instructions from Flannel Flowers.  All the participants brought home with their nice flower arrangements that evening. 

Supporting the 小白免之一次奇異的賽跑兒童音樂劇 play in April 2014
We supported the April 2014 - 小白免之一次奇異的賽跑兒童音樂劇 play that was performed by Angela Children’s Theatre at the Shatin Town Hall on 5 and 6 April. Group tickets at 25% discount were available to all FIDA members and friends.

Parent-kid Baking Class in June 2015
We also held the Parent-kid Baking Class on 6 June 2015, where parents and kids were offered a chance to make cake pops together, with a view to increase their parent-child bonding through the activity.
